I’ve been documenting her life A LOT these days.
There’s a good chance she might show her little face around here more often.
The close of a calendar year is always bittersweet for me. This year is no different. Looking back I’ve enjoyed documenting the growth of families, the accomplishment of a young lady, and the celebration of love – both young and old. I’ve met some amazing people, many of which I look forward to seeing again over the years. Thank you to all my clients for making this year special and inviting me out to document your life.
Now let’s chat about 2012. Not toooooooo many changes with the business side of my life, but personally there are some BIG changes. For starters, this April we are expecting a new addition to our family! I’m pretty sure my daughter hasn’t fully grasped what this means quite yet, but she’s pretty excited to be a big sister. So of course this means I will be on maternity leave for most of April and all of May. If you’re planning to book a session please contact me before April. After that, openings will be very limited. I will also book a few weddings this summer, but not nearly as many as this last year. In fact, July is already booked, with only a couple of openings in June and August. Then…in September my little family of four, will be making a temporary move all the way across the country to Augusta, Georgia so my husband can finish some school. Considering I’ve lived in Nevada my entire life, I’m both excited and completely terrified about this move. In the very slim chance someone from Georgia is reading this or knows someone out there, don’t be afraid to shoot me a message. I won’t know a single soul. Eeek!
This will be my last post of the year, so I’m leaving you with my top most cherished images from this last year. Thank you all for your support. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and I wish you a happy new year!

It’s exciting to watch my friends start new chapters. It’s even more exciting when they ask me to document them. Shanthi and I played soccer together in high school – ahhhh, good times. Then a couple of years ago she married her sweet adoring husband, Conrad. The end? Not even close. Now they have a very handsome little man who is almost 9 months old and I was finally able to meet him last weekend! Wow. Time really does fly.

My favorite part about photographing children is being able to watch and document their growth over time. I met little Alexis when she was 2 months old. She was a happy baby then and she’s an even happier toddler now. We started out with a few shots in their home and then went to a nearby park to let Alexis explore. Here are a few that I loved from our session:

When I was contacted about this session we discussed location options. Right away they knew they wanted to have pictures taken at one of their favorite parks. A few days before the session I took my daughter there to play so I could get a feel for the area and get some ideas flowing. My word, this park was breath-taking. You pull up to the parking lot and then hike a little ways into the trees and there it is! Here are some of the photographs we created on Mother’s Day:
